I could cron this as a monthly job and keep subject lines consistent for
killfiles to be set up. If un-/interested, please say so.

Ouch... something seems seriously wrong there.

I'm a moron.  Perhaps if I looked at the subject line of the message? _-_

This explains the quote whoring a little bit better too.

I don't mind once-a-month stats.  Though I think a pretty html page with
archives and such would be... well "cute" for lack of a better term.

You're actually quite right as I have just doubled-checked the numbers. Many
messages get discarded, perhaps because they are improperly formatted.
grepping the raw archive, it certainly contains all messages, but that C
program sometimes aggregates several messages, treating them as just a
single.

"most successful subjects" is not my choice of words.

Could be.

It exists already, but I just thought it was slightly crude.

I won't be doing that again, I promise. *smile*

Yeah, that'd be quite interesting.

Why not set it up as a web page instead of regularly broadcasting to the
list?  Comparatively, the stats message was quite long...

Best regards,
+ Kimmo

You're quite right. After posting, I discovered and then experimented with
HTML output options. However, [see below]

...many messages are not RFC-compliant. As a results, some messages get
discarded and statistics become worthless, not interesting. I changed the
code and recompiled, but it was a 'mend and break' situation. I'll try to
find a solution and then just channel the output to a Web page.

Best wishes,

Roy
