Hacking the Archive List

Dave Grijalva
The longer I've been blogging, the more space is wasted in my archive list.
What I'd really like to have is a link to every year before the previous and
a link to every month in the current year.  Does anybody know if this is
possible without hacking the wp source? Here's an example of what I'm
looking for

   - April 2006
   - March 2006
   - February 2006
   - January 2006
   - 2005
   - 2004

Thanks in advance for any help.

Note that list is not for support. Support questions are best asked
on the support forums, or on IRC.

I'm not looking for support.  I just wanna see if I've missed something
before I waste my time writing a plugin or hacking wp.

I don't recall every seeing a plugin that does that, but it's certainly
feasible.

Well, one is certainly free to wrap a plugin around my code I linked
to and release it. It's 'in the wild' as they say.

Two calls to wp_get_archives() should do you.
